A NovelAI alternative that's free every day.
NovelAI makes strong anime models, but there is no free version: one 30-image trial, then a subscription from $10 a month. SirenRender runs WAI-Illustrious v17 free, 10 images a day with no account and 50 with a free one.
What NovelAI costs now
NovelAI's image models are its own and they are good. The catch is that every image after the trial needs a subscription.
Free
NovelAI says it has “no plans for a free version”. New accounts with a verified email get 30 free image generations, once.
$10 a month
The cheapest tier includes 1,000 subscription Anlas and renews every 30 days.
August 2026
NovelAI Diffusion V5 launched on August 21, 2026, alongside a new usage limit on Opus. Starting 31 days after that launch, subscription Anlas reset to zero the moment a subscription ends.
What free means here
No trial and no countdown. The daily allowance comes back every day.
- 10 a day, no account — use them on any free tile, explicit ones included.
- 50 a day with a free account — email sign-in, plus 2 credits to start.
- Photoreal and anime — Krea 2 for photos, WAI-Illustrious v17 for anime and hentai.
- Edit and animate — change an image you made with a sentence, or turn it into a short clip with credits.

Where NovelAI is better
NovelAI trains its own anime models and pairs them with a story-writing side we don't have. If you write with NovelAI, keep it. SirenRender is an image and video studio. It is the free, pay-as-you-go option for the images.
18+ only, fictional adults only. Sexual content involving minors is blocked, and sexual images of real people without their consent are not allowed. See the acceptable use rules and content removal.
Questions
Is there a free version of NovelAI?
No. NovelAI says it has no plans for a free version. New accounts with a verified email get 30 free image generations, once. After that the cheapest plan, Tablet, is $10 a month.
Is SirenRender free?
Yes. 10 images a day with no account and 50 a day with a free account. After 250 lifetime free renders the free allowance becomes 15 a day, unless you have bought credits. Free renders carry a small sirenrender.com watermark.
Will my NovelAI prompts work here?
Mostly. NovelAI and WAI-Illustrious both read Danbooru-style tags, so tag prompts carry over. Model-specific syntax won't. The WAI-Illustrious prompt guide covers tag order and settings.
What happens to credits I don't use?
Nothing: SirenRender credits never expire, and payments are one-time, so there is no subscription to end. On NovelAI, subscription Anlas now reset to zero when a subscription ends.
Can I make NSFW anime here?
Yes, for fictional adults. The Anime & Hentai tile is uncensored for adults. Anything that sexualises minors is blocked.
